This manual demonstrates the installation of VC METAL DECOR Screens using Mounting Posts on a wood or composite deck surface.
1. Place the Gate and Mark the Hinge Position
Place the gate in the desired location and mark where the hinges will go. Follow the measurements shown in the image for accurate placement — remember, these refer to the hinge positions on the gate, not on the post.
Ensure Proper Clearance Between the Post and the Gate
Maintain a 3/4-inch gap between the post and the gate to allow smooth movement and avoid damage. Once aligned, securely fasten the hinges on the back side of the frame, ensuring screws are tight for stability and long-lasting performance.

2. Secure the Hinges on the Post
Attach the hinges to the post, ensuring the latch is positioned upward. This installation is crucial to support the gate and prevent it from falling.
3. Align the Gate with the Latch
Position the gate so that the hinges align perfectly with the latch. This alignment ensures that the gate swings smoothly and locks securely when closed.
4. Install the Gate onto the Hinges
Carefully install the gate onto the hinges, ensuring that it fits securely. Lower the gate into place, aligning the hinge pins with the hinge plates.
